History of MS Team FedEx

2001 - MS Team FedEx begins as a grass roots effort of a few employees in Memphis. The team has 46 riders and raises just over $18,000 in the Memphis Rock-n-Roll Bike Tour.

2002 - FedEx Express responds to the employee effort and becomes the title sponsor of the FedEx MS Rock-n-Roll Bike Tour in Memphis. The team grows to 98 cyclists and raised $40,000.

2003 - FedEx Express is again the title sponsor of the Memphis FedEx MS Rock-n-Roll tour, as well as chapter-wide sponsor for all three MS tours in Tennessee. The team grows to 125 riders and raises over $56,000. At the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's national conference in November 2003, FedEx is honored with the Corporate Star Award by the society for it's corporate and employee effort in the fight against MS.

2004 - MS Team FedEx establishes a "Network of Hope" and becomes a national team, exceeding its goals with 23 teams and 575 riders, raising over $235,000. FedEx Ground becomes title sponsor of the Pittsburgh MS bike tour and FedEx Freight becomes title sponsor in Springfield, MO.

2005 - MS Team FedEx expands to 40 MS bike tours across the country. FedEx Kinko's in Dallas joins FedEx Express, FedEx Ground, and FedEx Freight as a title sponsor of their local MS bike tour. In addition to FedEx's investment of more than $150,000 in 2005, the national team of 1,200 members, plus volunteers, raises approximately $440,000.

2006 - MS Team FedEx raises $436,600 with 1,021 team members participating in 39 rides nationwide. FedEx Express, FedEx Ground, and FedEx Freight continues title sponsorships, plus truck and in-kind support.

2007 - MS Team FedEx participates in 40 tours across the country, with 1,000 team members, and raises $441,000.

Through the efforts of employees, management, family and friends, the MS Team FedEx story will continue into the future until the objective is met and we help "Deliver the Cure" for multiple sclerosis.
